NEW NEW NEW
Some of the things Rory is doing NOW HE IS ONE.
..pointing... he will point at pretty much anything - the pointing is usually accompanied by an increasingly insistent ah ah ah AH...
Cruising.. (steady..) In the baby world this means clambering about hanging onto tables, sofas, baggy trouser legs etc and every now and then forgetting what you are doing and letting go.. Boof...
Handing things to folk, taking things off folk, putting things into things...
Drinking from a cup.. admittedly this is still a bit of a work in progress. As often as not it's blowing bubbles into a cup - or casting the contents of the cup across the room. But he's getting there. Slowly.
ALSO HE HAS GROWN SIX TEETH..

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY RORY
It was Rory's first birthday on Wednesday.
Happy birthday, Rory!
We had a party. There were balloons...
And 13 babies. Which is a lot of babies..
And Alison continued her development as a domestic goddess by baking a baby-friendly birthday cake..
And of course it's not a birthday without presents. Rory says thankyou very much for all the brilliant gifts. But what he really likes, inevitably, is the shiny paper.
One is whole lot more than none - which is what he was a year ago. It's all a bit overwhelming for Mum and Dad. But he took it all in his stride.
One last thing - Diarmid and Ellen also made Rory a brilliant present which can be seen here on you tube...
